The blaze broke around 10:58 p.m. Tuesday in a cigar and vape store at 583 Central Park Ave., said Yonkers Fire Department Deputy Chief Daniel P. Flynn.

When more than 55 firefighters arrived on the scene the fire had spread into the common cockloft-area of the one-story building at the corner of Central Park and Yonkers avenues, he said.

Three other stores had either fire or smoke and water damage at 579 Central Park Ave., 805 Yonkers Ave., and 801 Yonkers Ave.

On scene firefighters were successful at stopping the spread of fire into multiple other stores, Flynn said.

The fire was under control at 12:18 a.m., with one reported minor firefighter injury, the chief added.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
